For the past 30 years I've been working with leather, metal, and wood. These combine nicely in knife-making, and that is what I've begun to concentrate on. I'm not a custom knife-maker. I prefer to make my own designs, but I will consider yours as well. I prefer natural handle materials and have an excellent stock of domestic and tropical woods. My interest at this time is in making practical "using" knives (kitchen knives, camp knives, etc.). I will also make more elaborate knives, drawing on my jewelry-making skills, with exotic materials and precious metals. Please see the "New Knives" pages for examples of the knives I make. Send me an email if you'd like to be updated with changes and additions to the website.
| This is a knife I made for a gardener. Except for a hand drill, used to drill holes for handle pins, this knife is truly hand-made, i.e. hacksaw, files, and sandpaper. Blade is discarded circular sawblade, and handle is padauk wood from a packing crate. |
